Child Sponsorship in Vietnam - Project 043

Sponsor a Child

Dear Friends,

Sponsorship of children in their own homes from disadvantaged social backgrounds is an on-going ministry to which Siloam is committed in co-operation with 'The Da Nang Charity and Children’s Protection Rights Association' as well as the 'Tin Lanh' (Good News) Evangelical Church in Vietnam.

A photo of 'your' sponsored child will be provided twice a year. Sponsorship gifts are telegraphically transferred three times a year i.e. January (in time for the 'Tet' festival - Vietnamese Lunar New Year), May and September) from our office in the UK to the bank account of 'The Da Nang Charity and Child ren’s Protection Rights Association' in Central Vietnam. Your monthly sponsorship commitment of £15.00 provides for the cost of a child's school fees, uniform, clothing, shoes, food expenses, educational stationery items i.e. books/notebooks etc…

The translation of the sponsored children's letters to the sponsors from Vietnamese to English and vice versa is undertaken by helpful staff in Vietnam under the supervision of our representative Mrs Nguyen Phan Lien Ha.

Our Southeast Asia voluntary Representative, Don Foster travels to Vietnam twice a year, usually in spring and autumn. During this time Don visits many of the families we are helping. Sponsors are also very welcome to visit and a number have already done so and we can help arrange a supervised meeting between the sponsor and their child when requested.

Siloam requires a regular monthly sponsorship commitment of at least £15.00 per child but siblings and other family members may also be helped if the sponsor so desires. Siloam only makes a tithe deduction of 10% for all funds transmitted to Vietnam.

These children live with their own families, usually only one parent, rather than in a hostel like our other projects. So, it's relatively easy for us to have a continuing programme and regular contact with these children.

Most of our sponsors find Siloam's child sponsorship programme in Vietnam a very rewarding involvement and the regular gifts that we are able to send to Vietnam do make a real difference to the poor children and the families we are helping there.

If you would like to enter into a commitment to sponsor an underprivileged child in Vietnam, please write or email us with your details, advising us of your choice of child's gender and approximate age and we will try to match you with a child with your preferences in mind.
