Sponsor a Child
Dear Friends,
Sponsorship of children in their own homes from disadvantaged social backgrounds is an on-going ministry to which Siloam is committed in co-operation with both ‘The DANANG ASSOCIATION FOR CHARITY AND PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS’ and ‘The QUANG NAM PROVINCIAL SPONSORING ASSOCIATION FOR THE DISABLED, CHILDREN'S RIGHTS AND POOR PATIENTS’ including ‘The Vietnamese ‘Tin Lanh’ (Good News) church’ in both Da Nang City and other local ‘Tin Lanh’ (Good News) churches in Quang Nam Province – Central Vietnam.
Photograph(s) of ‘your’ sponsored child / children will be provided twice a year including his/ her ‘thank you’ letters giving you their up-to-date information concerning their education etc… sponsored by their UK sponsors.
The educational sponsorship gifts are telegraphically transferred to Siloam Vietnam four times a year i.e. every 3 months from Siloam UK headquarters in Leamington Spa to the bank account of ‘The DANANG ASSOCIATION FOR CHARITY AND PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS.’
Your monthly sponsorship commitment of £15.00 per child provides for the cost of a child’s school fees, uniform, clothing, shoes, food expenses, educational stationery items i.e. books/notebooks etc…
Siloam UK sponsors also help to contribute compassionately towards Christmas / birthday gifts etc… – code 077 for their sponsored children, and in some cases these gifts will reach their sponsored children on the occasion of the annual Vietnamese Lunar New Year known as ‘Tet’ festival nationwide, sometime in January / February.
The translation of the sponsored children’s letters to Siloam UK sponsors from Vietnamese to English and vice versa is undertaken by helpful staff under the supervision of our representative Mrs Nguyen Phan Lien Ha who is based at Siloam Vietnam in Da Nang City – Central Vietnam
Siloam UK requires a regular monthly sponsorship commitment of at least £15.00 per child but siblings and other family members may also be helped if the sponsor so desires. Siloam only makes a deduction of 12.50% to cover UK administration and governance expenses for all funds transmitted electronically to Siloam Vietnam.
These children live with their own families, usually only one parent in certain cases, rather than in a hostel. So, it’s relatively easy for Siloam UK to have a continuing programme and regular contact with these children through Siloam UK local Representative Mrs Ha Nguyen in Central Vietnam.
Most of our sponsors find Siloam’s child sponsorship programme a very rewarding experience and the regular educational sponsorship gifts apart from Christmas / birthday gifts etc… that we send to Vietnam do make a real difference to the poor children as well as their families we are helping there.
If you would like to enter into a commitment to sponsor an underprivileged child in Vietnam, please write or email us with your details, advising us of your choice of a child’s gender and approximate age and we will of course try to match you with a child with your personal preferences in mind.
Thank you once again for your compassionate love and concern for underprivileged children and their families in Central Vietnam.
